thousands of years, tea, as a natural health drink, has played an
important part in the history of China. The art of serving and drinking
tea is still very much a role of Chinese culture. For centuries,
tea rituals have been prominent in the lives of Chinese aristocrats,
intellectuals, poets and court officials. Clay tea pots are hand made and used in the brewing of tea. The collection shown here are aesthetically unusual and very special in their designs. Dragons, birds, reindeer, or shapes like vegetables, tree trunks or bamboo are individual in their construction. These examples can certainly be used for brewing tea but in themselves are works of art.
